The Indian Premier League (IPL) debuted in 2008, a year after the Indian cricket team won the first edition of the World T20 in a thrilling final against Pakistan. What started as an ambitious project 11 years ago is now considered to be the best Twenty20 league in the world. Mumbai Indians is the most successful IPL team, having won the tournament five times and been runner-up on one occasion. Chennai Super Kings are the second team to win the IPL title on four occasions while they have finished second once.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the title of IPL 2021 Winner by 27 runs. CSK (192/3) beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) (165/9) by 27 runs to win their fourth IPL title. CSK made it to the Grand Finale of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Dubai International Stadium to emerge champions. With their win in IPL 2021, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lifted their fourth IPL title.

IPL Winners List – Player Awards

  • Orange Cap :- Shaun Marsh became the first winner of the award. In IPL 2019, David Warner won the Orange Cap IPL Award and in IPL 2020, KL Rahul won the Orange Cap. In IPL 2021, Ruturaj Gaikwad won the Orange Cap with (635 runs, average of 45.35).
  • Purple Cap :- Sohail Tanveer was the first awardee of Purple Cap. Imran Tahir won this award in IPL 2019. Kagiso Rabada won the Purple Cap in IPL 2020. Harshal Patel (32 wickets) won the Purple Cap in IPL 2021.

KL Rahul (30) won the most sixes award in IPL 2021.
  • Most Valuable Player :- Shane Watson was the first recipient of this award in 2008 IPL. In 2019, Andre Russell was awarded the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament award. Jofra Archer won the Most Valuable Player Award in IPL 2020. Harshal Patel won the Most Valuable Player Award in IPL 2021.
