Rohit Sharma became the highest run-scorer in the World Cup, scoring 648 runs in 10 innings. He scored just one run more than David Warner, who achieved it in 10 innings.

Ranked No. 2 ODI batsman in the ICC Men's Rankings, Rohit Sharma scored a record five centuries in his World Cup campaign. He scored a total of 330 runs against Bangladesh in the 2015 World Cup, including a century and two half-centuries. Rohit Sharma played an innings of 137 runs against Bangladesh to take India to the semi-finals. In the semi-final, Rohit could not perform as well as expected and India were knocked out of the World Cup after losing to Australia. He achieved the feat during the 2015 World Cup.

Rohit Sharma won the Golden Bat of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 after failing to score the runs required to defeat England's Joe Root and New Zealand's Kane Williamson with the trophy in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 as they face the Lord's Cricket Ground in London happened in the finals.
The 2003 World Cup was expected to surpass Sachin Tendulkar's record of 673 runs, the most by any batsman in a single campaign. Rohit Sharma was the highest run-scorer in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. The Indian vice-captain has 648 runs in nine matches, while Root has 549 runs (10 matches) and Williamson has 548 runs (9 matches), ranking fourth and fifth in the list of highest run-getters of the tournament.

Second and third were David Warner (647 runs in ten matches) and Shakib Al Hasan (606 runs from 8 matches). The New Zealand captain finished his World Cup with the bat by scoring 578 runs, which incidentally is also the most runs scored by a captain in a single World Cup edition.
Root and Williamson failed to surpass Sachin Tendulkar's record (673 runs) for most runs scored in a single edition of the World Cup, something Rohit Sharma has already done.

Rohit Sharma has scored a total of 8657 runs in 214 ODIs with 27 centuries. He has scored 1585 runs in Test matches with three centuries in 27 Test matches. Rohit has scored 2331 runs in 94 T20 matches played so far. Rohit has 4898 runs in his name in 188 matches played in IPL with one century and 36 half-centuries.
