History Of Carrom Board:
Carrom is a game very popular in South Asia and the Middle East, which originated in India in the 18th century. The game became very popular among the public after the First World War. In fact, this game is most popular in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Pakistan. Widely played in the Indian subcontinent, carrom requires a good sense of angles and excellent accuracy and concentration. This game was once played for fun - mostly by children and women and old people, as it is also a good way for everyone to pass the time with the game. But now it is being played in an organized manner at a competitive level. And by the beginning of the nineteenth century, state level competitions were being organized in different states of India. Carrom tournaments may have started in Sri Lanka in 1935, later in 1958, both India and Sri Lanka formed official federations of carrom clubs. The International Carrom Federation (ICF) was formed in 1988 in Chennai (India). And in the same year the Carrom International Rules were also approved. Today this game has made its place globally and its popularity is increasing day by day. Apart from India, today about 50-60 countries of the world play this game, millions of people from countries like Sri Lanka, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, Malaysia and Pakistan participate in carrom game.
Carrom originated in India and neighboring countries learned and learned the game easily. Over the years, Asian countries dominated the sport. Carromboard is gaining popularity in Europe and North America. Countries like France, Germany, Britain, Greece, Italy, Spain, Switzerland etc. have also formed their carrom associations.
Carrom game was introduced in Japan in the early 20th century, where it is affectionately called Tokyo, which means 'English Fight Ball Board' in English.
An Objective:
The carom is played on a square polished plywood board or hard board with a wooden frame placed beneath it. There are four holes around the carrom board. Between these four holes, players who play carrom put the ballot. There is a large circle in the center of the board, which has a sphere of 15 cm. Stroker is made of hard plastic and small circular wooden pieces called carmen.
The basic purpose of the carrom board is to use the striker with a flick of the finger to drive the carmen into four holes. The game has to pocket the Carmen and Queen before their opponent and score maximum points to win.
Pieces: Wooden yellow and black pieces are placed on the carrom board and red colored pieces in the middle. In which red color is called 'queen'. The rounding of pieces is at least three centimeters and maximum is four and a half centimeters. The total number of pieces on carom is 19. Of these, 9 pieces are black, 9 are yellow.
