What are the equipment required to play badminton?
This includes badminton rackets, shuttlecocks, shoes, trackers, accessories and apparels, etc. Without some mandatory equipment like net, racket, shuttlecock, the game of badminton cannot be played without such mandatory equipment. Badminton, however, requires less equipment or accessories unlike other sports.
No game can be completed without the necessary equipment.
We should take a look at those essential equipment.
- Badminton Racket:
The game of badminton requires a racket. Modern badminton rackets are light in weight and do not weigh more than 100 grams. The racket frame can be made of common metals such as steel or aluminum. Sometimes rackets are made of alloys, hardened carbon fiber, ceramic or boron. Its length does not exceed 680 mm and the width does not exceed 230 mm. Also make sure the grip is suitable for you. There are four grip sizes available viz. G2, G3, G4, and G5.
- Shuttlecock:
In badminton, no game can be played without a shuttlecock. If it is one winged, 16 wings fixed in a cork base wrapped in a thin leather sheet make a shuttlecock. Interestingly, the best badminton shuttlecock is made from one wing to another. The shuttle weighs between 4.74 to 5.50 grams.
- Badminton Shoes:
To keep badminton players moving, a good pair of badminton shoes offers the best grip, cushioning and some flexibility at the forefront.
Badminton Accessories
As such, the badminton accessories used are grip, badminton clothes, socks, wrist bands and head bands.
- Grip: Grip made of fabric or synthetic fiber that absorbs sweat and gives you a strong grip and a relaxed.
- Badminton Clothes: Really comfortable T-shirts and shorts during the match, which are more comfortable than other dress T-shirts and do not impede your movement, are ideal for playing badminton. A cotton round-neck or a collared t-shirt with a pair of light shorts is usually preferred. Wearing light clothing absorbs body heat and sweat without affecting performance.
- Socks: Wear thick cotton socks of good quality as they help to absorb sweat. They also prevent your feet from slipping inside your shoes. Do not compromise on cheap socks. Avoid wearing nylon socks that do not absorb sweat.
- Wrist Band: By the way, they can be purchased or not. They are also not mandatory. If you sweat a lot, you can consider getting a wristband that prevents your sweat from flowing to the handle of your racket.
- Head Band: If you have long hair, or you wear glasses, wear a head band. This prevents your lens from getting wet, and prevents sweat and hair from getting into your eyes while playing.
