The Baton Cup is the oldest field hockey tournament in the world. It is organized by the Bengal Hockey Association. This hockey tournament was established in the year 1895. The second oldest hockey tournament in India is the Aga Khan Cup. It is organized in Mumbai since the year 1896.
The Baton Cup tournament was first held in Kolkata in the year 1895 and has been held annually since then. It is usually held at the Mohun Bagan ground on the grounds of Kolkata. This tournament is counted among the most prestigious hockey tournaments in the world.
