Personal Life:

Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, in Onesti, Romania, to parents Giorghe and Stefania Comaneci. Similarly, Nadia Comaneci belongs to Romanian nationality and was born under the zodiac sign Scorpio. Talking about Nadia's siblings, she has a younger brother. Nadia's parents separated in the 1970s and her father later moved to the capital, Bucharest. Nadia and her younger brother Adrian were raised in the Romanian Orthodox Church. Nadia Comaneci started gymnastics at the age of six. She was coached by the controversial duo of Bela and Martha Karolyi, and retired from the sport in 1981 at the age of 20.
Comaneci defected to the United States in 1989 and now lives in Norman, Okla., with her husband, 1984 Olympic gymnast Bart Connor. They have a son, Dylan Paul Conner, who was born on June 3, 2006.
She and Connor Bart are the owners of Connor Gymnastics Academy and the international gymnast magazine, Perfect 10 Productions, Inc. (television production) and grips, etc. (gymnastics supplies). Comanesi also supports Nadia Comaneci Gymnastics School in her hometown. of Onesti, Romania.

Gymnastics Achievements

  • Comaneci was the first gymnast to score a perfect 10.0 at the Olympics. He did so at the 1976 Games and then went on to score six more 10.0 points and win three gold medals.
  • Comaneci was also the first Romanian gymnast to win the all-around title at the Olympics and is the youngest champion ever. Fourteen-year-olds are not allowed to compete in the Games due to current age restrictions, so it is possible that their record may never be touched.
  • In 1979, Comaneci became the first gymnast to win the all-around title at the European Championships.
  • At the 1980 Moscow Olympics, Comaneci won his second Olympic gold medal on the beam and another gold medal on the all-around. He is the last Olympic all-around champion to return to the Games after four years.
