The game is based on the natural principles of the physical that emphasizes the development of play and promotes healthy fighting spirit among the youth. In this game there is not only running with speed but a natural tendency for the player to chase. To chase to catch the opposition player. Chasing for 9 minutes on a stretch, this heart demands stiffness, endurance. In turn the physically fit youth enjoy it and the spectators watching enjoy the thrill. To their satisfaction, this game can be played on any surface.
Kho-kho is compatible with open field games. It is played on the ground or on the ground or synthetic ground. Kho-kho game is played in two innings. A team consists of 15 players. Of which 12 players are nominated for a match and only 9 are taken to the actual game initially. Each team has to chase and defend 9 times every minute. The match is such that involves 2 innings in an innings or defending once, "turn" of a particular act. There is a change of 9 minutes between the remaining two turns. Controlled sprinting, dodging, diving are some of the skills displayed. During the game, more points have to be obtained.

The Kho Kho playground is rectangular in shape and can be built outdoors or indoor. In outdoor, it can be made on a flat soil surface and in indoor, it can also be played on a wooden surface / synthetic surface / synthetic mat.

End Line⚊ AB and DE equal to the width of the KHO KHO field run parallel to each other and are equal to the length of the Kho Kho fi eld known as END LINES.

Side Line⚊ AD AD and BC are running parallel to each other and equal to the length of the KHO KHO field, known as the (SIDE LINES) edge.

Court⚊ The area between the post lines formed by point EFGH is considered as COURT.
Post⚊ Two strong wood or fiber posts (hardened as fiber post wood), smooth on all sides and over 120 to 125 cm. Rmly Fi xed Fi in the free zone at the tangent of the Post Lines in M and N above and perpendicular to the ground, is known as POSTS. M and N coincide with the center of the posts and will be half the width of the KHO KHO court and the distance touching the post line.
The post will not be tapped. The top of the post will be free of any sharp edges. The post will be marked by color (preferably white).
Central Lane⚊ CENTRAL LANE is a rectangle between two positions measuring 30Cm. Width and length equal to the length of the court, which divides the court into two equal parts and forms squares at the intersection of the cross lane.

Cross Lane⚊ Each of the rectangles, measuring 35 c.m. MEN's / WOMEN's & JUNIOR BOYS / GIRL's and in width of 30 cm. X width of the court that cuts the central angle at right angles.
For SUB-JUNIOR BOYS / GIRLS and equal to the width of the court, the central lane is placed on the right angle which is known as CROSS LANE.
Square⚊ The area of 35 c.m. x 30 c.m What is known as a square (area 30 cm) formed by the intersection of the central lane and the cross lane.
1. Distance between adjacent sections: 230 cm. 2. Distance between the post line and the first and last cross lane: -250 cm.
Line Of The Post⚊ Lines that are at right angles to the central lane and run parallel to the cross lane at the tangent to the post are known as the Line of Post or Post Lines (EF & GH).
Free zone⚊ The remaining part of the field from the end line to the post line at either end of the court is known as the free zone.

Lobby⚊ The area around the measuring area of 1.5 m width is known as LOBBY.
Width Of The Lines⚊ The width of each line should not be less than 2-3 cm. And not more than 5 cm. Includes all measurements.
Entry Zone⚊ The area of the lobby measured both mounts along the lobby's outer line parallel to the side line and on either side of the scorer's table. In width and in length from the post line to the third cross lane is known as ENTRY ZONE. It is for the runners to enter the court to protect them.

Sitting Block⚊ The seated block for the reserve players will be on either side of the field placed for the coach and manager and the team block located near the end lines. Arrangement of chairs / benches for players, coaches and managers as specified in the diagram.
Chasers⚊ The players on the side who exclude opposing players and the players who chase opponents with score points at the same time are known as CHASERS.
Attacker⚊ A player who chases the players / defenders of the opposite side such as defender's with a view to tap and touch them is known as ATTACKER.
Runners⚊ Players from the side other than Chaser are considered as runners.
Defender⚊ The runner who is inside the ground for his defense is known as DEFENDER for his defense.
To Give KHO⚊ To give "KHO, to give an attacker, touch the chaser with his hand from behind him in between the shoulder line and the waist line, and then pronounce the word "lost" loudly and clearly. Giving "KHO" is a process of an attacker becoming a chaser and a chaser becoming an attacker.
Foul ⚊ If an attacker or chaser violates a rule, they are treated as FOUL.
To Take a Direction⚊ When an attacker moves from one post line to another post line and / or loses, he moves to the particular Post line he is said to have.
