Who is the player to hit six sixes in an over?

Who is the player to hit six sixes in an over of cricket?

Everyone is excited to watch and play the game of cricket. Hitting six sixes in an over of cricket is a semi-legendary achievement that is rarely realized, although every player has shown the ball the way out of the field, but hitting 6 sixes in 6 balls in a row is just a matter of every player. It is not a matter of fact that only a few selected players have done this feat till date. Even in the big-ass era of T20 batting. The Indian player hit six consecutive sixes in a first-class over and then achieved this feat in one-day international, T20 matches.
The excitement of watching the game of cricket increases even more when our favorite players rain fours and sixes on the field. Eg: Hitting 6 consecutive sixes in 6 balls is not a matter of every player, only a few players have done this feat till date. For this reason, we are going to tell you the names of such cricketers, who surprised everyone by hitting 6 consecutive sixes.

Below is a list of every batsman who has hit six sixes in an over in top-level domestic or international cricket.

Sir Garfield Sobers (1968) :

West Indies all-rounder Gary Sobers hit 6 sixes in 6 balls in first-class cricket on 31 August 1968 and became the first cricketer to achieve this feat.
Sobers was playing as captain for Nottinghamshire against Glamorgan when Malcolm Nash came to bowl. Running to the crease, Malcolm Nash had no idea that unfortunately this over would represent a large part of his cricketing legacy. Sobers made five consecutive clean hits, but on the sixth he was caught for the boundary. However, fielder Roger Davies carried the ball over the rope, resulting in six sixes in the first over and adding to the achievement.

Ravi Shastri (1985) :

Shastri, commonly known as a defensive player, Former India batsman and coach Ravi Shastri was the second batsman in the cricket world to hit 6 sixes in 6 consecutive balls. Ravi Shastri on 19 January 1985, playing for Bombay against Baroda in the Ranji Trophy, hit left-arm spinner Tilak Raj for 36 off six balls.
The current India coach is also known for taking action from the commentary box and has developed a reputation as one of the best.

Yuvraj Singh (2007) :

Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh became the second batsman from India to hit 6 sixes. Yuvraj Singh's attack on the England cricket team during the World Cup T20 game in South Africa in 2007 and the helpless Stuart Broad will be forgotten by few. Not only this, Yuvraj was the first batsman who had hit 6 consecutive sixes on the balls of a fast bowler, before whoever had made this record, he had made it on the balls of spin bowlers. Yuvraj had a heated argument with Andrew Flintoff before Broad bowled the 19th over.
However, it was Broad who would pay the final price in the next six balls as an angry Singh took his brilliant vengeance. Yuvi, with excellent timing and shot selection, hit six consecutive sixes.
At that point, Shastri was behind the mic, and who better to call the action. Yuvraj Singh has retired.

Herschelle Gibbs (2007) :

South African opener Herschelle Gibbs became the first batsman to hit six consecutive sixes in international cricket. From the mid-1990s to 2010, he was South Africa's most exciting and explosive batsman. During the 2007 World Cup, Dan Van Bunge of the Netherlands made history by hitting sixes off the balls of whose over.
The pompous right-handed batsman with breath-taking skill hit Van Bunge's delivery flat and high. Gibbs is the only person to have achieved this feat in a 50-over World Cup game and is the first player to do so at an international level.

Ross Whitely (2017) :

Ross Witley did this feat in English county cricket by hitting 6 sixes in 6 balls of the same over of Yorkshire spinner Karl Karver. In July 2017, Yorkshire Vikings spinner Carl Carver was hit for six consecutive sixes in a T20 Blast match at Headingley.

Hazratullah Zazai (2018) :

Afghanistan batsman Harjatullah Zazai hit 6 consecutive sixes while playing for Kabul Jawana in the Afghanistan Premier League (T20). Jazai achieved this feat against Balakh Legends bowler Abdullah Mazari.

Leo Carter (2020) :

New Zealand's Leo Carter made history after hitting six consecutive sixes off spinner Anton Devcich against Northern Knights in the domestic T20 tournament in January 2020.
Carter, taking part in New Zealand's Super Smash event, hit six consecutive sixes and scored an unbeaten 70 off just 29 balls, helping Canterbury Kings win by seven wickets with seven balls to spare.
Carter was the seventh batsman to do so. Before him this feat was achieved by West Indies legend Gary Sobers, Ravi Shastri and Yuvraj Singh of India, Herschelle Gibbs of South Africa, Ross Witley of England and Hazratullah Zazai of Afghanistan.

Kieron Pollard (2021) :

Kieron Pollard achieved the feat of hitting 6 sixes in an over for West Indies in March 2021 against Sri Lanka. Pollard became the first player since Singh to hit six sixes in an international over in 2007, while he was also the third player after Yuvraj and Herschelle Gibbs to do so in international cricket. Pollard's achievement was even more impressive as bowler Akila Dhananjaya took a hat-trick in his last over.

Thisara Perera (2021) :

Sri Lanka's all-rounder Thisara Perera got his name registered in the record books in March 2021. He became the first Sri Lankan player to hit six sixes in an over.
This player achieved this feat in the Group A match of the Gane Major Clubs Limited Over Tournament. This match was played between Sri Lanka Army Sports Club and Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club.
This 50-over match was reduced to 41 overs due to rain. Sri Lanka Army Sports Club's score was 282 for three when the team's captain Perera batted brilliantly.
Perera's scintillating effort took him to the final score of 52 in just 13 balls as he scored the second-fastest fifty in List A cricket. Thisara Perera became the ninth cricketer to hit six sixes in an over and the sixth in domestic cricket to do so.
