Sachin, Sehwag and Yuvraj will be seen again in the field, Road Safety World Series Cricket League will start from this June.
The second edition of Road Safety World Series Cricket League will start from 4th June, with the final match of this series being played on 3rd July. A total of three venues including Lucknow, Indore and Jodhpur have been selected for this tournament. A new team of New Zealand legends has been added to the Road Safety World Series. Apart from this, the legends of India, Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh and England will also take part in the tournament.
The Road Safety World Series is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of India and the Ministry of Information and Technology and the Government of Youth Affairs and Sports. The 30-day tournament is played with an aim to create awareness about road safety in India and around the world.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, 'I am sure that this series will help in achieving the goal of saving lives on the roads.
“The Road Safety World Series is a very good initiative to create awareness among the masses about road safety through cricket. Which every person in the country should be aware and follow every rule and law on the road, drive your vehicle regularly and for this to happen, we have to create awareness among the people, with firm belief this series will be able to achieve this goal. Will be helpful to save lives on Indian roads.
The main objective behind organizing this series is to promote social change in the world and change the attitude of commuters, and drivers towards road safety. This league will be a perfect platform to spread the message, as cricket is undoubtedly one of the most followed sports in the world.
Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said, "I am sure that the Road Safety World Series will promote social change and serve as a perfect platform to influence the mindset of people on road and road safety."
