A game that has been played by men, women and even children in almost every school and college. Kho-kho is one of the most popular traditional games in India and like all Indian sports, it is very simple, cheap and Is in the form of a pleasant game. Kho Kho is the ancient game of undivided India, a separate strategy of "" Kurukshetra "war in the Mahabharata. At Gymkhana Pune, a committee was formed in 1914 which implemented its rules. The first edition of the rules, Aryapatya Kho-Kho and Hu-Tu-Tu was published.

At the Berlin Olympics in 1936, a team from Pune in India demonstrated strength. Kho Kho entered internationally through the first Asian Kho Kho. The Indian Kho-Kho Union (K.K.F.I.) was established in 1955 in Maharashtra. This association organizes Kho Kho competitions at the national and international level.In 1959 AD, the first National Kho Kho competition was held in Vijayawada. Kho Kho was included in the 1987 South Asian Federation (Saif) Khelo in Kolkata as a performance game. That's when the 'Asian Kho-Kho Union' was established during these Khelo. The game also became popular in Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka participated in the first Asian Kho Kho competition in Kolkata in 1996. In 1999, these countries again participated in the Netaji Subhash Chandra International Gold Cup competition. Still efforts are being made to promote this game.
