Kho Kho Awards...
In Kho-Kho game, players are given various awards for their dedication towards the game and their outstanding performance throughout their career.
Some of these awards are as follows:
Janaki Award:
Kho-Kho award for girls below 18 years of age. Janaki Award is given for his outstanding performance in sports.
Veer Abhimanyu Award:
Kho-Kho players below the age of 18 years have been awarded the Veer Abhimanyu Award for exceptional performance in this traditional game.
Arjuna Award:
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (Government of India) recognizes sportspersons and bestows them with the Arjuna Award for their outstanding achievement in the Kho-Kho National Games. The award also includes a scroll with Rs 500,000 and a bronze statue of Arjuna.
Eklavya Award for Men's:
Eklavya Puraskar was instituted in 1994 to honor sports persons who are 19 years of age or less. The Government of Karnataka recognized the Eklavya Award for the Kho-Kho game. The Government of Karnataka awards the medal to the person who performed in the sport with enthusiasm and passion. Adarsh CP received the Eklavya Award in the year 2008 for his dedication to the game Kho-Kho.
Rani Laxmi Bai Award for Women's:
The award carries a prize money of 100,000 for exceptional performance by women in the Kho-Kho game. Rani Lakshmi Bai Award was given in the name of Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi, who fought bravely against the British Raj.
Dronacharya Award:
This award is for the coaches who excel in teaching the strategy of the game to the players. The Dronacharya Kho Kho Khel Award comprises a cash prize of Rs 7,00,000, a scroll of honor and a bronze statue of Dronacharya. Gopal Purushottam Phadke was honored with the award in the year 2000 for his outstanding service.
Shiv Chhatrapati Kho-Kho Award:
Award given by the Government of Maharashtra to the meritorious sportspersons of the state of Maharashtra who have achieved remarkable achievements in the field of sports. The conferment of this individual award started from 1969-70.
The Shiv Chhatrapati Award consists of a blazer (coat) and a trophy along with a citation and Rs 25000 in cash. This award is given by the state government of Maharashtra.
