The Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super Series was a series of Grade 2 badminton tournaments sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). It was launched on 14 December 2006 and implemented in 2007.
Since 2011, the Super Series consists of two levels of tournaments, the Super Series Premiere and the Super Series. One season of the Super Series consisted of twelve tournaments around the world, five of which were classified as Super Series Premieres.
The Super Series is a Grade 2 level tournament. Thus offering less prize money and seeing less star-studded performances.
The Superseries Premieres are 3 mega-events that take place in a year, similar to the Grand Slams in tennis and offer high prize money.
Every year players take part in these series and at the end of the year the top 8 ranked players get a chance to play in the BWF World Tour Finals. The winner emerges with the top-ranked player as the highest paid player.

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) calculates the prize money of the participants and releases the list of highest paid badminton players.
