Who was the international player in badminton?
India's famous badminton player Prakash Padukone became the world's number one badminton player as soon as he achieved the first rank when he won the All England Championship in 1980. Prakash Padukone has won dozens of medals including two golds in international tournaments including World Cup and Commonwealth Games in his career. Prakash Padukone
Prakash Padukone played his first official match in the Karnataka State Junior Championship in the year 1962. Even though he got out early in this tournament, he eventually became India's greatest badminton player.
Prakash Padukone is the first Indian badminton player to win the All England Open in 1980. In the same year, he also became the number one player in the world. Apart from winning the Danish Open and Swedish Open, Prakash won gold medals at the 1978 Commonwealth Games and the 1981 World Cup.
Prakash Padukone also opened the doors to Europe in 1981 and decided to play for a club in Denmark. Prakash Padukone was the first Indian sportsperson to open an academy named 'Prakash Padukone Center of Excellence'. This academy became famous for providing high level of training.
Pullela Gopichand
Pullela Gopichand won the All England Open title. He is the second and last player from India to do so. He also defeated world No. 1 player Peter Gade in his journey to victory.
Pullela Gopichand won his first National Championship in the year 1996 and after that won this title for 4 consecutive times.
Pullela Gopichand then won the silver medal in the international competition and won the bronze medal in the 1998 Commonwealth Games. Gopichand won another bronze medal at the 2000 Asian Championships.
Pullela Gopichand opened an academy named 'Pulela Gopichand' in the year 2004 in Hyderabad.
Saina Nehwal
India got a great player after Prakash Padukone in the form of Indian badminton player Saina Nehwal.
After missing out on a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Saina Nehwala's dream came true at the 2012 London Olympics. Saina Nehwal won 10 BWF Super Series titles, 10 BWF Grand Prix titles and 1 BWF World Tour title.
In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Nehwal's rival Wang Xin was ruled out due to injury and Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal etched her name in the pages of history by winning a medal.
She was successful in winning the 2008 BWF World Junior Championships. Saina Nehwal won the BWF Indonesia Open title a year later.
Saina Nehwal managed to reach the final at the All England Open in 2015 but could not win the title.
PV Sindhu
After losing in the quarter-finals of the BWF World Junior Championships in 2010, PV Sindhu got her real identity in the year 2013. This year this player won the title of Malaysia Open.
In the year 2016, PV Sindhu was successful in winning the silver medal in the Rio Olympics. Also in the same year, he challenged the world's top players in the BWF China Open.

kidambi srikanth
