The "ICC Test Championship" is an international competition run by the ICC (International Cricket Council) for the 10 Test playing nations. It is a ranking system based on all Test matches played throughout the cricket season as part of the regular cricketing calendar.
Points are awarded for winning a Test match or series in such a way that if a team wins, it earns more points than its current rating. And if she loses, she will get less points, thus the rating will be affected cumulatively. A draw match between the higher and lower rated teams would favor the lower-rated team at the expense of the higher-rated team.
The ICC chiefs award the ICC Test Championship mace to the highest-rated team on 1 April each year, accompanied by a cash reward of $1 million.
