प्राणायाम करने का उपयुक्त समय क्या है?

योग साधना, आसन, प्राणायाम, ध्यान आदि का अभ्यास करने का सबसे अच्छा समय ब्रह्म मुहूर्त (सूर्योदय से पहले) माना गया है। यदि ऐसा करने की सुविधा न हो तो सूर्योदय के आधा घंटा बाद तक योगासन, योग साधना, प्राणायाम एवं ध्यान आदि क्रियाएं की जा सकती हैं।
प्राणायाम शब्द का अर्थ है। प्राण का अर्थ है जीवन शक्ति और अयम का अर्थ है आयाम या औरम का अर्थ संयम या नियंत्रण करना है। प्राणायाम की तकनीक सांस लेने की तकनीक का एक सेट है जहां शरीर और दिमाग में विशिष्ट परिणाम उत्पन्न करने के लिए सांस को जानबूझकर बदल दिया जाता है। स्वस्थ जीवन जीने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण ऊर्जा की आवश्यकता होती है। हमारे द्वारा खाए गए भोजन और जिस हवा में हम सांस लेते हैं, उसकी मदद से हमारे पेट से ऊर्जा का उत्पादन होता है। "पंच कोष या ऊर्जा के पाँच स्तर) के सिद्धांत के अनुसार, प्राणायाम दूसरे चरण के रूप में आता है। सबसे पहले, अन्नमय (पाचन तंत्र), प्राणमाया (महत्वपूर्ण ऊर्जा), विगनमाया (ऊर्जा शरीर के रसायन विज्ञान को बदलती है), मनोमय (मन या मन बदलता है) और अंत में यह आनंदमय (आनंदित अवस्था) है।
योग विज्ञान में दिन को चार भागों में बांटा गया है। वे ब्रह्म मुहूर्त, सूर्योदय, दोपहर और सूर्यास्त हैं। सुबह का समय या ब्रह्म मुहूर्त सूर्योदय से लगभग डेढ़ घंटे पहले या उससे अधिक सटीक 1Hr 36 Mins है। यानी योग की सभी प्रथाओं में 96 मिनट की सिफारिश की गई है, यह वह समय है जब पृथ्वी की ऊर्जाओं को ध्यान सहित किसी भी योगाभ्यास के लिए सबसे अच्छा उपयोग किया जा सकता है।
नियमित योग करने से शरीर में लचीलापन रहता है। नियमित योग करने से मोटापा, गैस, कब्ज, लकवा, हृदय रोग, जोड़ों का दर्द आदि सभी रोग दूर होते हैं। नित्यदिन जॉगिंग, सूर्य नमस्कार, सूक्ष्म व्यायाम, कपालभांति, अनुलोम विलोम, भ्रामरी, ध्यान, मंडूकासन, शशांक आसन, वक्रासन, हलासन, ताड़ासन, वृक्षासन, चक्रासन, शीर्षासन आदि आसनों का अभ्यास करें।
प्रत्येक प्राणायाम के उद्देश्य जैसे: लोम-विलोम, भस्त्रिका, शीतली, नाड़ी शोधन। जैसे अगर आपको गर्मी लग रही है तो आप शाम या सुबह या दोपहर में कभी भी शीतली या शीतकारी परनामी कर सकते हैं।
इसी तरह जब आप नींद महसूस करते हैं या आप सोना चाहते हैं तो अलग-अलग प्राणायाम होते हैं। इसलिए प्राणायाम हर किसी के लिए है और हर उम्र और हर स्तर पर इसके लिए आपको गुरु के साथ सीखना होगा और उसका अभ्यास करना होगा जो इसके विभिन्न रूपों में निपुण है।
