So you should take the game more seriously right now, you may not have or have found the gear and equipment yet, but you are wondering if there is anything else that you need to add? You have a checklist to ensure that you will pay close attention to it.
Cricket equipment or clothing is regulated by the rules of cricket. Cricket clothes, known as cricket whites or flannel, are loosely molded so that players' antics are not restrained. The use of safety equipment, such as cricket helmets, gloves and pads is also regulated.
1. To start playing cricket cricket equipment you need two things.
Cricket Bat: Wooden bat is used. The wood used is from the Kashmir or English willow tree. The bat cannot be more than 38 inches (96.5 cm) long and 4.25 inches (10.8 cm) wide.
BALL: Red, White, or Pink ball with a cork base, wrapped in twine covered with leather. The ball should have a weigh not less than 5.5 ounces/155.9 g, nor more than 5.75 ounces/163 g, and shall circumference of 9.1 in (23 centimetres).
Any other balls softball- mostly soft tennis ball/ Hard Tennis ball.
2. Clothing and protective gear.
This is usually paired with white long trousers, Collared shirt.
Jumper (a woolen pullover, if necessary). This is usually a vest.
Sun hat, cricket cap or baseball cap.
For shoes, wear spiked shoes in order to increase traction on the playing area.
3. Protective equipment.
Like every day sports, protective gear is needed to ensure safety and stay injury-free.
Body protection:The batsman and wicket-keeper wear an abdominal protector to protect themselves from the impact of the ball on their body. Leg pads or shin pads are common batsmen, wicket-keepers as well as fielders posted near batsmen.
Helmet: A helmet, worn by batsmen and fielders to protect their heads. Wearing protective eye-wear is also recommended for wicket-keepers. The effect of hitting the ball with a wicket can be predominated with bails which become disorganized after the impact.
Gloves:The batsman and the wicket-keeper have different types of gloves. All worn by batsmen are roughly padded at the tip of all five fingers, when compared to a thin wicket-keeping glove. The wicket-keeper's gloves cut the fingers to help catch the ball.
4. Other equipment.
Stumps: three upright wooden poles that, together with the bails, form the wicket.
Bails: two crosspieces made of wood, placed on top of the stumps.
Sight screen: A screen placed at the boundary known as the Sight screen. This is aligned exactly parallel to the width of the pitch and behind both pairs of wickets.
Boundary:A rope demarcating the perimeter of the field known as the boundary.
5. Equipment for your game performance.
If you want to play at a higher performance level, then you will need the right gear and equipment regulated by the rules of cricket. Here is a list that can help you get started.
Typically in the performance level, the ball used in cricket is a cork ball covered in leather. In terms of color, there are two. Red balls are used in Test cricket and for first-class cricket while white color is used in one-day matches. Watch as these shells are very stiff and have an impact on the body.
