Shane Warne is a former Australian cricketer, widely regarded as the greatest leg-spinner in the history of cricket. Shane Warne was one of the best spinners in the cricket game. Shane Warne Biography, Family Career Achievements:

Shane Warne was born on 13 September 1969 in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, Australia. His father's name was Keith Warne and mother's name was Bridget. Shane Warne did his schooling from Hampton High School. Shane Warne then represented the University of Melbourne Cricket Club in the then Victorian Cricket Association Under-16 Dowling Shield competition.
  • In 1983–84, he bowled a mix of leg-spin and off-spin. His stud earrings and surfing made him famous all over the world. During the 1987 cricket off-season, he played five matches in Australian rules football for the St Kilda Football Club under-19 team.
  • In the year 1990, Warne was selected to train at the Australian Cricket Academy in Adelaide.
  • Shane Warne joined Accrington Cricket Club in 1991. He made his own identity as a bowler. He took 73 wickets at 15.4 runs but scored only 329 runs at an average of 15.
  • In September 1991 toured Zimbabwe with him. After returning to Australia, he toured the West Indies in December 1991. Warne was brought into the squad a week later for the third Test against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground as incumbent spinner Peter Taylor took just one wicket in the first two Tests.
  • Married Simone Callaghan in the year 1995 and they had three children. But the marriage was not successful and both got divorced in 2005. Before being selected for Australia, he played seven matches in the Sheffield Shield domestic club competition. He made his Test debut in 1991–92 against India in Sydney. Warne took 34 wickets at an average of 25.79 in six Tests against England in the 1993 Ashes series.
  • He is best remembered for a ball bowled to England's Mike Gatting at Old Trafford in Manchester in the 1993 series.
  • In the year 1998, he also had to face controversies. When it was reported that he and fellow Australian cricketer Mark Waugh had taken a bribe from an Indian bookie four years ago. They only gave pitch information and weather forecasts. Later, the Australian Cricket Board secretly fined both of them.
  • Despite the scandal in the year 2000, he was named one of the five Cricketers of the Century by the Wisden Cricketers' Almanack.
  • Controversy again in February 2003, he was ruled out of the World Cup in South Africa and banned for 12 months.
  • After his return in March 2004, in the first Test match, he took his 500th wicket and became the second bowler to achieve the feat. In just 63 matches, he took 300 Test wickets. He became the first bowler to reach 600 wickets in Tests in 2005.
  • Shane Warne retired from Test cricket in the year 2007, but continued to play at club level till 2011. In his international career, a total of 708 Test wickets were involved.
  • Muralitharan broke his record in the year 2007. After retiring from international cricket, he was signed as the captain of Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League in 2008.
  • In November 2011 he was signed as a player for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League (BBL).
  • In July 2013, he officially retired completely. He confirmed that he will no longer captain the Melbourne Stars in the BBL.
  • In 2007 Cricket Australia and Sri Lanka Cricket decided to name the Australia–Sri Lanka Test cricket series as the Warne–Muralitharan Trophy in honor of Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan.
