Information of the Hockey Game.

Hockey is a sport in which two teams play with a stick of wood. This stick is called a hockey stick. The hockey stick is curved from the bottom to the inside.   • History of Hockey in India:

    Hockey in India was started by the British Army in the 19th century. The first hockey club of India was formed in Calcutta in 1885-86 and soon after, hockey clubs were formed in Bombay and Punjab. The All India Hockey Federation was established in India in 1925 and in the year 1926 Indian hockey made its first international trip to New Zealand and India won 18 out of 21 matches in New Zealand.
    India competed in the Olympics held in Amsterdam for the first time in 1928 and won the gold medal by defeating Australia 6–0 in the final. Between 1928 and 1956, the Indian hockey team won six consecutive Olympic gold medals, followed by two gold medals by the Indian team in 1964 and 1980.
    India has won a total of 11 medals at the Olympics, including 8 gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
