Dhyan Chand: He was born on 29 August 1905 in Allahabad, United Provinces, British India. His birthday has been declared as the National Sports Day of India. On this day the National Award Arjuna and Dronacharya Award are given for outstanding performance in sports.
The popular sport in India is definitely cricket. However, once the main sport was hockey. India was a major force in hockey in the 1930s and the main reason for their great success was Dhyan Chand. He was one of the best players of this game, he is called the magician of hockey. While they were playing, India won three consecutive gold medals at the Olympic Games.
He was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's prestigious civilian honor in 1956. There were great successes in 1928, 1932 and 1936. Dhyan Chand got the nickname "Wizard" for his incredible skills.
 
 
Milkha Singh: Milkha was a retired Indian track and field sprinter. He was given the nickname "The Flying Sikh". He was one of India's all-time best athletes, one of the first Indian athletes to try to tackle the sport. He also achieved incredible success by winning a gold medal in the 1951 Commonwealth Games.
Milkha had a difficult period in life due to the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947. The Government of India also honored him with the title of Padma Shri in 1959. He represented India at the Olympic Games in 1956, 1960 and 1964.
Sachin Tendulkar: Tendulkar (born: 24 April 1973), called the God of Cricket, is considered one of the best batsman in the world in the history of cricket. At the age of 16, he caught the attention of the public.
Sachin Tendulkar is the first sportsperson and the youngest person to be awarded the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award. Rajiv Gandhi is the first cricketer to be awarded the Khel Ratna Award. He has also been awarded Padma Vibhushan in 2008.
He has scored the most centuries in both Test and One Day cricket. He is the highest run scorer in Test cricket. Along with this, he is the only player in the world to score more than 14000 runs in Test cricket. He also holds the record for scoring the most runs in ODIs.
In 2001, Sachin Tendulkar became the first batsman to complete 10,000 ODI runs in his 259 innings. Tendulkar who won the 2011 Cricket World Cup, his first victory in six World Cup appearances for India.
Presently he is a member of Rajya Sabha, in 2012 he was nominated as a member of Rajya Sabha.

Viswanathan Anand: Anand (born 11 December 1969) is one of the best chess players in the world. Anand has won the World Chess Championship five times. As a youth, he achieved incredible success as he became the first Indian to become a chess grandmaster at the age of 20. Viswanathan Anand became World Chess at the 2003 FIDE World Chess Championship.
In 1988, Viswanathan Anand became the Grandmaster of India. He was the first to be awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award which is India's most honorable sports award (1991–92). Vishwanathan Anand was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian award in 2007. Anand has won the Chess Oscar 6 times (1997, 1998, 2003, 2007, 2008).

He was the best in the 10m Air Rifle category. Before him, a gold medal was won by a hockey national team at the Olympic Games in 1980. Abhinav won a gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and Abhinav Bindra, a 2006 world champion in air raffle shooting, started shooting at the age of 15.
In 2000, Abhinav became the youngest shooter of the Sydney Olympics. He won the bronze medal in the 2001 Munich Cup. In the same year in Manchester, he managed to win the gold medal in the 10m air rifle. In the 2004 Athens Olympics, Abhinav set the record, but missed out on winning a medal.
In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Bindra hit straight on the gold medal.
Abhinav won the gold medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Abhinav Bindra was also the first Indian to win a World Championship gold in Zagreb and a gold medal in Paris.

Pankaj Advani: Pankaj (born 24 July 1985, Pune) is a world champion in snooker and billiards. Pankaj won his first professional billiards world title in 2009. Earlier he had won the Amateur World Billiards and Snooker Championships. Pankaj won the gold medal at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha.
Pankaj Advani is an Indian billiard and snooker player. He was a 19-time world champion. He won his first title at the age of 18. Also, Pankaj is the only athlete to become a world champion in both sports, billiards and snooker.
Pankaj defeated the 2008 and nine-time champion Mark Russell to win the World Professional Billiards Championship.
He won the World Professional Billiards Championship in 2009. His skill is really incredible as it is not easy to be a champion in two different sports. On 6 September 2009, in the title match played on Sunday at the Northern Snooker Center, Pankaj defeated the defending champions 2030-1253. With this win, Pankaj has become the second Indian to hold the title in the 139-year history of billiards. Earlier in the year 1992, this title was won by Geet Sethi.
Mithali Raj: Mithali (born: 3 December 1982) is the current captain of Indian women's cricket. Cricket is more popular among boys than girls, but Mithali has managed to make her dream come true with hard work.
Mithali Raj was awarded the 'Arjuna Award' on 21 September 2004 for her 2003 cricket achievements.
Mithali is the first woman to score a double century in a Test cricket match. In June 2018, Mithali Raj became the first Indian batsman to score 2000 runs in Twenty20 Internationals. Mithali Raj is the only female cricketer to cross 6,000 runs in Women's One Day International cricket. Mithali Raj is the first Indian woman player to score 2,000 or more runs in T20 International cricket. Raj is the only player (women) to have led India to more than one ICC ODI World Cup final, twice in 2005 and 2017.

She is the first Indian to win the BWF World Junior Championship.

Sakshi Malik: Sakshi (born: 03 September 1992) is an Indian female wrestler. Sakshi Malik won the bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is the first female wrestler to win an Olympic medal for India. Sakshi Malik won a silver medal representing India in the 2014 Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow. He also represented India in the 2014 World Wrestling Championship.
Their success is even more significant as wrestling is a human-dominated sport, so the number of medals Malik and sisters Geeta and Babita Phogat have won for India is an incredible feat.
In 2016, Sakshi has been awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award by the Government of India.
