Dhyan Chand: He was born on 29 August 1905 in Allahabad, United Provinces, British India. His birthday has been declared as the National Sports Day of India. On this day the National Award Arjuna and Dronacharya Award are given for outstanding performance in sports.
The popular sport in India is definitely cricket. However, once the main sport was hockey. India was a major force in hockey in the 1930s and the main reason for their great success was Dhyan Chand. He was one of the best players of this game, he is called the magician of hockey. While they were playing, India won three consecutive gold medals at the Olympic Games.
He was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's prestigious civilian honor in 1956. There were great successes in 1928, 1932 and 1936. Dhyan Chand got the nickname "Wizard" for his incredible skills.
Milkha Singh: Milkha was a retired Indian track and field sprinter. He was given the nickname "The Flying Sikh". He was one of India's all-time best athletes, one of the first Indian athletes to try to tackle the sport. He also achieved incredible success by winning a gold medal in the 1951 Commonwealth Games.
Milkha had a difficult period in life due to the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947. The Government of India also honored him with the title of Padma Shri in 1959. He represented India at the Olympic Games in 1956, 1960 and 1964.

Sachin Tendulkar: Tendulkar (born: 24 April 1973), called the God of Cricket, is considered one of the best batsman in the world in the history of cricket. At the age of 16, he caught the attention of the public.

Viswanathan Anand became World Chess at the 2003 FIDE World Chess Championship.
In 1988, Viswanathan Anand became the Grandmaster of India. He was the first to be awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award which is India's most honorable sports award (1991–92). Vishwanathan Anand was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian award in 2007. Anand has won the Chess Oscar 6 times (1997, 1998, 2003, 2007, 2008).

Pankaj Advani: Pankaj (born 24 July 1985, Pune) is a world champion in snooker and billiards. Pankaj won his first professional billiards world title in 2009. Earlier he had won the Amateur World Billiards and Snooker Championships. Pankaj won the gold medal at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha.
Pankaj Advani is an Indian billiard and snooker player. He was a 19-time world champion. He won his first title at the age of 18. Also, Pankaj is the only athlete to become a world champion in both sports, billiards and snooker.
Pankaj defeated the 2008 and nine-time champion Mark Russell to win the World Professional Billiards Championship.

She is the only female player to be ranked first for the third time in a month. In the 2012 London Olympics, Saina created history by winning a bronze medal in the women's singles event of badminton. She is the first player from India to do so in badminton. She also reached the quarterfinals at the 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing. She is the first Indian to win the BWF World Junior Championship.

Sakshi Malik: Sakshi (born: 03 September 1992) is an Indian female wrestler. Sakshi Malik won the bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is the first female wrestler to win an Olympic medal for India. Sakshi Malik won a silver medal representing India in the 2014 Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow. He also represented India in the 2014 World Wrestling Championship.
