Rohit Sharma has used 45 as his jersey number. The 34-year-old made his national team debut in 2007 and it was initially difficult to cement a regular playing XI spot. Since 2013, he has been a regular member of the Indian line-up and has also picked up the opener spot in limited overs cricket. After making his Test debut in 2013, Rohit has become a household name in world cricket. Unlike many ups and downs in his career, the cricketer has always had one consistency in his international career; Jersey No. Team India's vice-captain, in a recent conversation with ICC's media team, explained the reason behind choosing jersey number 45 for Team India T20 World Cup, India's important match against Scotland in the T20 World Cup. Rohit Sharma said that there was no such story behind his number and it was his mother who picked the number for him. Rohit Sharma credited his jersey number to his mother and said, "There is no such story behind the number 45. It's just my mother asking me to get that number and I didn't argue. She just said that It will be very lucky for you so I took the number,” said Rohit Sharma.

Jersey number 45 turned out to be really lucky for Rohit Sharma. India's batting superstar is currently one of the best batsmen in the world.
